"When we took the first machine in our Secunderabad unit, the STERRADTM 100S, we started using this plasma sterilization for sterilizing the heat sensitive instruments like the scopes and lap instruments. And we found that the port site infections have definitely come down and the ease with which it can sterilize, the duration which it takes, it is very promising and the machine is very sturdy - it does not usually breakdown and even if it breaks down, it is repairable very fast.

Instrument maintenance is also much better. When we used to dip instruments in glutaraldehyde, it used to form a crust around the lens of the scopes. Also with soaking, the joints of camera and the scope used to get stuck. But that does not happen now."
